SONG OF THE WEEK : SIA “Chandelier” [Numero 111]

*ABOUT*

ITALIANO

“1000 Forms of Fear” uscirà l’ 8 Luglio 2014 mentre “Chandelier” è gia disponibile al download.

ENGLISH

For this week i’ve chosen “Chandelier” , the first single taken from upcoming 6th album of singer Sia , called “1000 Forms of Fear”.

The song is a pop m with some raggae (especially at the beginning) and electronic influences , power ballad with a very deep and strong meaning , dealing with the alcoholism and the struggles of the so called “party girls”.

A different artist, who choses not to face the camera during the live performances, exactly what we comprehend when we look at the cover of her latest albums who show the image of the singer (possibly) with a blond and short wig but…faceless.

A cool move? Maybe will rise popularity with the psychology of the contrary? Maybe, but this is a certain slap in the face to the society of today , which is so interested in appearance, hedonism , ego and do everything for money and fame…which is probably something that we all tested on ourselves at least once in our lifetime.

A very important song to me, impossible not to mention, whom touches everyone has weaknesses and “swings like a chandelier” , like who suffers from alcoholism, and has to deal with self destruction.

Not only a magistral, clever and beautifully written song but even a intense and interesting sound , in which i recognize a bit of Rihanna ( of the albums “Rated R” & “Unapologetic”) nbt, honesty, at much higher level.

“1000 Forms of Fear” will be released July 8, 2014 and “Chandelier” is already there for you to download.

Do you  like it? Let them know with a comment and/or a reblog:)

*TESTO / LYRICS*

Party girls don’t get hurt
Can’t feel anything, when will I learn
I push it down, push it down

I’m the one “for a good time call”
Phone’s blowin’ up, ringin’ my doorbell
I feel the love, feel the love

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, drink

Throw ’em back ’til I lose count

I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I’m gonna live like tomorrow doesn’t exist
Like it doesn’t exist
I’m gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I’m gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

But I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Help me, I’m holding on for dear life, won’t look down, won’t open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, ’cause I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight

Sun is up, I’m a mess
Gotta get out now, gotta run from this
Here comes the shame, here comes the shame

On for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Oh I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight
On for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
‘Cause I’m just holding on for tonight
Oh I’m just holding on for tonight
On for tonight
On for tonight
