SONG OF THE WEEK : PIXIE LOTT “Lay Me Down” [Numero 112]

    *ABOUT*

    ITALIANO

Il singolo , “Lay Me Down”,  sarà disponibile dal 27 Luglio.

Ricordo, o per chi non la conosce lo dico, che Pixie Lott (che non è famosa in Italia) ha all’attivo 3 UK #1 Singles ( “Mama Do” , “Boys & Girls” e “All About Tonight” ) , e il suo album di debutto “Turn It Up” (2009) ha venduto oltre 850,000 copie solo in UK!

    ENGLISH

For this week i’ve chosen  “Lay Me Down” , the third single taken from Pixie Lott’s upcoming third album, that will be titled simply “Pixie Lott”, and will be out August 4,2014.

“Lay Me Down” is a pop song with a Motown influence and is a new direction from the EDM-ier sound that featured on her 2nd album “Young Foolish Happy” (UK #18 ; +100,000 copies sold) to follow a more genuine and retro approach, in my view a lot better and more on her skills.

Moreover, “Lay Me Down” shows a very good vocal performance by Pixie , that in some of her last songs was a little less recognizable.

A video that reminds a lot of Gwen Stefani’s “Cool” (Pixie reminds me of Gwen in general) , a perfect summer song and the right choice to preview her new album.“Lay Me Down” , the CD single and download,  will be available from July 27.

I remember people , or i say it for who doesn’t know her, that Pixie Lott has 3 UK #1 Singles ( “Mama Do” , “Boys & Girls” e “All About Tonight” ) , and her debut album “Turn It Up” (2009) has sold more than 850,000 copies only in the UK!

Do you  like it? Let them know with a comment and/or a reblog:)

    *TESTO / LYRICS*

You see me howling at the moon
It’s what you taught me to do (Hmm)
I’m chasing stars just to get back closer to you

You see the ashes by the fire
The only life that I knew (Hmm)
I touched a flame just to get back closer to you

    Show me the way,
    I’ve done traveling too far
With the cross on my back
And the hole in my heart
    Now you say
There’s no love to be found
    When six feet down
And I thought that’d make me closer to you!

Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!
Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!

You hear me beating at the door
What else you want me to do
Ooh, you got me crawling up the walls to get closer to you
    Yes you do!

    Show me the way,
    I’ve done traveling too far
With the cross on my back
And the hole in my heart
    Now you say
There’s no love to be found
    When six feet down
And I thought that’d make me closer to you!

Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down?
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!
Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down?
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down?
    Closer to you!

    [Ohh ohh oh] x2
    Closer to you
    [Ohh ohh oh] x2

    Sow me the way
    I’ve done traveling too far
With the cross on my back
And the hole in my heart
    Now you say
There’s no love to be found
    When six feet down
And I thought that I’d be closer to you!
    Closer to you

[Ooh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh] Repeated
    [Closer to you]
    [Closer to you]
    Closer to you!

Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!
Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!
Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!
Why don’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
Won’t you lay me down, lay me down, lay me down
    Closer to you!

SONG OF THE WEEK: NO DOUBT “Looking Hot” [Numero 41]

    *ABOUT*

Go ahead and look at me
    ‘Cause that’s what I want
Take a good look won’t you please
    ‘Cause that’s what I want

    I know you wanna stare
You can’t help it and I don’t care
    So look at me
    ‘Cause that’s what I want

Do you think I’m looking hot?
Do you think this hits the spot?
How is this looking on me, looking on me?

Do you think I’m looking hot?
Do you think this hits the spot?
How is this looking on me, looking on me?

    Go ahead and stare
And take a picture please, if you need, yeah
I think that says it all

I’m chasing it and I don’t know why
I think about it a lot
Better hurry, running out of time
I think about it a lot

    I can’t tell anymore
    I don’t know what I’m looking for
    You know what I mean
I think about it a lot

Do you think I’m looking hot?
Do you think this hits the spot?
How is this looking on me, looking on me?

Do you think I’m looking hot?
Do you think this hits the spot?
How is this looking on me, looking on me?

    Go ahead and stare
And take a picture please, if you need, yeah
I think that says it all

    Running on empty
    But I have had plenty
You’re complimentary but I’m just pretending
    Uniform, hide behind
    This is my diversion
Go ahead and start at my ragamuffin

    Feel it, so fake it
I dare that you take it
    One eye in the mirror
    Put on my venera
    Could have sworn
    It’s a sure shot
    Are you under my convey
Go ahead and stare at my ragamuffin

Do you think I’m looking hot?
Do you think this hits the spot?
How is this looking on me, looking on me?

Do you think I’m looking hot?
